Laparoscopic Tubal Ligation
Laparoscopic tubal ligation is a form of permanent sterilization. It is performed in the hospital setting.
The procedure uses a thin, lighted tube with a tiny camera on the end that is inserted through an incision in the belly in order to visualize the fallopian tubes. Through another tiny incision in the belly, the physician is able to use tools to cut and cauterize the fallopian tubes resulting in permanent sterilization.
