Hysteroscopy

A hysteroscopy is a very safe procedure that is used to look inside the uterus. A hysteroscopy can be used to diagnose many problems, as well as to confirm the results of tests.

There can be a number of reasons as to why you may consider getting a hysteroscopy. These reasons can include abnormal uterine bleeding, infertility, adhesions, abnormal growths, and more.

A hysteroscope is inserted into the uterus through the vagina. The hysterosope shines a light inside, allowing the doctor to view the uterus and the reproductive organs. Recovery can depend on the type of anesthesia used or whether other procedures were done at the same time as the hysteroscopy.

Hysteroscopies can be performed in the office or in a hospital setting.
